I believe the best thing was the lack of feeling stressed. VU provided outstanding service and assistance through out our purchasing experience,
Rachel and her team made the process simple and manageable. My questions were answered quickly and her solutions were understandable and simple.
The overall process was more tedious than other VA lenders and the appraiser’s they use do not do their jobs. A $700 appraisal still had the VA buyer have to go out and take pictures of smoke alarms.

I’m sorry to hear the process felt more tedious than expected and that the appraisal added extra frustration. VA appraisers are independent and sometimes need additional proof, like photos of smoke alarms, to meet the VA’s requirements. These guys are the very best I've ever worked with! I will do ALL my future business with VU and recommend to everyone I know to call them FIRST if you need a mortgage! Mike is dedicated, fast, efficient, and will give you an honest, no-BS answer. He will go above and beyond to make sure things go right.
